I Found a Treasure!

And I am so proud of it!! I went into Academy on saturday ... looking for one item, and one item only! I have been wanting a black Nike wind breaker! Does it have to be Nike? No, but I bought a cheap one 2 years ago ... and it's cheap! Hince the name ... "cheap one"!

As you can see this jacket (which I think was originally a pant/jacket set) is priced at $75.00 ... then marked down to $59.99! Well normally, I would put this jacket back and keep looking else where! But for some reason, I decided to go check the price with one of those machines that scan the barcode and tells you the price of the item! Before I scan, I decide that I will pay $20.00 at the most! Guess how happy I was when the price rang up $4.88! Heck Yeah! That made my day! So then I go to check out ... when she rings it up, I get super excited again! Yippee for finding a bargain!

Lunch at the Park

Yesterday, my wonderful husband made sandwiches and the fixings for lunch, and we headed to the nearest park!! It was a beautiful day, and so nice to be outside! I am guessing that these creatures know what happens when humans sit at the park benches! They would come so close to you, waiting on you to share! I couldn't resist!

I shared a piece of my bread with this guy!

This guy wasn't interested in the bread ...
Bryan thinks he was going for the sauce on his hand!

That's a doritos in his hands!

Of course, a picture of us!! :)

A Nice and Relaxing Weekend

Hahaha Yeah Right!? We don't even know what those words mean anymore! But that's ok ... Staying busy is what keeps us out of trouble (or that's what people keep telling me)!! On Saturday, Brian Holik and I drove to Abilene to watch Sarah run in the regional track meet! To make a day of it, we decided to watch 1A and 2A finals! Since a couple of Mertzon kids were running, Bryan (my Bryan) brought a couple of his boys! We watched 1A together ... and then Bryan took the boys to Buffalo Wild Wings in Abilene for some wings and to watch the draft!

Our First Regional Track Meet Together
(hahahah)
I got this picture just as shot the gun ...
See the smoke!

Run, Sarah, Run

They were ranked 8th by their time coming into the finals ... they placed 8th! But they looked good! They are all juniors or younger ... So, Bring on the Senior Year!!

The Mile Relayers (Is this a word?)

Hilari is saying, "Take it, Sarah"!!

So, there was a girl who got 2nd in the 3200 Meter Run and a guy who won the 1600 Meter Run ... they will be moving onto state! As for Sarah, she got to drink a Dr. Pepper for the first time in months! She said it sure was good!

Me, Sarah and Brian

Brian had a Wall T-shirt ... but instead, he decided to support his new school!

Sarah and Ethan

So some crazy stories from the day:
-During the first lap of the girls 1600 Meter Run, a girl fell down and grabbed her head. We all though that she hit it on the track! She got up and ran another 100 meters, but then stepped off again. Later, we found out that she was actually stepped on TWICE ... IN THE HEAD ... WITH SPIKES!! :/
-There were 3 hurdles left for the boys in the 300 meter hurdles ... 2 of them saw the gold and silver already hanging from their necks, and moving onto state! A split second later they saw the track, face-to-face! The 1st and 2nd place hurdlers went down ... they knew there season was over for this race! You might think that the 3rd and 4th are going to state now after they became 1st and 2nd ... Not quite! At the time of the fall, the 2nd to LAST place guy came back to get 2nd overall! When does this ever happen? Is this quick of a race, you rarely see someone that far behind come up and move on to state! I guess every one was just in a sense of shock after what happened to 1st and 2nd! Moral of the Story: Never Give Up!

A little Add-In:
After Bryan got rained out of a golf tourney at Quick Sand, we decided to go watch a movie we had been dying to see!! Baby Mama is sooo funny! Bryan and I laughed so much! If anybody needs a movie to watch, go see this!

Update

Apparently, a couple of you GIRLS are worried about the run-away! They found him at a relative's house on saturday night! He is in the process of coming back to the ranch right now! Bryan might be a little scared next time a new kid asks to go to the bathroom during a movie!

Yet Another Busy Weekend

I think Bryan and I are trying to set some kind of record for the busiest weekends in a row! Starting off with Friday: Bryan planned a night at the movies with his boys! This is a normal Friday night for them, but what Bryan didn't know is that it would be a night to remember! About 10 minutes into the movie, a new kid asked if he could go to the bathroom. Bryan, of course, said yes. He was never seen again! Bryan had to call the police and fill out a report! This is a hard way to start off your weekend! While all of this was going on, I was babysitting! My friend, Joy, had to take her husband to the hospital for emergency eye surgery! Well, who wants to have three kids under the age of 3 at the hospital! I took the two youngest! So I had them from 5-9:30PM! Bryan and I were hoping to get an early start to Kerrville that night ... but that just wasn't going to happen! About 8:30, we were packed and ready to go, with 2 sleeping boys in the back of the car! We get 5 miles down the road, and I tell Bryan I forgot my tennis shoes ... he turns around to get them! Then about 10 miles down the road, I decided that I did NOT want to leave Violet at home all weekend, so he turns around and we get Violet! THEN, we get about 4 miles down the road, and I ask if he packed my blow dryer and hair straightener ... he looks at me like, are you kidding me? In my defense, I was trying to keep 2 boys calm while packing! By this time it is after 9 PM, and we still had to drop the kids off, fill up the car with gas, and eat! Let the weekend Begin!

Bryan and I attended the Family Camp on Saturday that House of Faith puts on every year! It was at H-E-B camp in Leaky, Texas! Bryan was the lifeguard, and I just helped! Here are some fun pictures from Saturday!

You have to drive in the river to get to the camps ...
Bryan really enjoyed this part!

I said, "Bryan, look at the berries ... What kind of tree is that?"
We are down by the river ... Can anybody guess what they are?

Bryan, the HOTTEST Lifeguard Ever!

Shane, and his catfish.
Shawn is jealous.

This big kids (I mean adults) jumped off these rocks!

Elizabeth and the youngest Hill, Colton.

Jimmy and Alfonzo being D-u-m-b!

Some kids would leave their fishing poles and run off. Lance jumped in and swam after this one.

Nice Size Catfish!

They were trying to sink the dock!

On to the Christmas present ...
Bryan's parents gave us Season Tickets to Six Flags! We enjoyed a cool day of twisting, looping, and screaming! Thanks Roy and Mary!

That is the "Goliath" behind us ... the newest roller coaster that opened on Friday! It was a lot of fun! While we were waiting in line, I asked Bryan if we could be in the very front ... There is usually a little extra wait to be in the front, but I think it is worth it! Bryan was like I don't care where we ride! Well we got lucky, and the guy put us in the front with no extra wait!! It was Awesome!

Friday Fave Five

Well, It's already Friday again! Here are my favorite things about this week!

  1. Bryan and I will be helping with Family Camp through House of Faith this weekend! Bryan will be the one and only lifeguard, and I will be a helper! We are excited to be able to go hang out with this group!
  2. On this same note, Bryan's boss came up to him yesterday and said that he was going to pay Bryan for Saturday! Bryan was going to make up the hours next week sometime for being gone on Saturday, but now he does not! Yeah! His boss said that because it's House of Faith and not some baseball game!
  3. Hallelujah! I found a new OB/GYN! I had one that I really like at Community, but she moved to Shannon! My insurance is through Community, and I go there anyways! She is wonderful!
  4. Celebrating a new engagement with our friends! They are so excited and have already set a date! Their engagement story is so sweet; obviously not as sweet as mine (I am a little bias towards ours)! He had a bible made with her future name on it, "Charlotte Buhle." Then, he wrote her a note about the time they have shared together! Darren actually called Bryan last Thursday and said that he had the ring, and that he was going to propose on Sunday! It was so fun knowing ahead of time!!
  5. On Sunday, we finally get to use a Christmas present! We will let you know what it is when we get back home!

Here is to a wonderful week gone, and a busy, but fun weekend ahead of us!!

Monday, April 14, 2008

Congrats!

Congrats to the newly engaged couple, Darren and Charlotte!

So I didn't get a picture of the bling-bling, but it is gorgeous!!

The Busiest Saturday EVER

Ok, so maybe not EVER ... the weekend of our wedding was pretty busy! Let's start at 6:00 PM on friday night! Sam and her son, Broc .. Joy and her kids, Madison, Noah and Joshua .. and Elizabeth ... all came over for an evening of fellowship with the girls and some rugrats! As soon as they sat down, I told them I had a little surprise for them! Because of the wonderful world of internet, we were going to have a date with my sister, Jill, who is half way across the world (exactly 12 hours ahead of us)! Using a program called Skype, we would be able to talk to her! I also have a camera, so she can see us! We had a date set up for 7 Pm (our time), which was 7 AM (on her saturday morning)! It was soo great to hear her voice, and she was able to see all the kids and how they are growing up! I think it turned out to be an awesome surprise! Here are some pictures of all the rugrats!

Trying to get Madison to take a picture!!
She fought hard, but her mom and Broc won!

Joy, attempting to hold on to 2 kids ...
that did not want to stay there!

Sam and Broc with Baby Joshua

So let me explain this picture a little:
Violet was all about giving all her kisses to Joshua, so I am trying to keep her off with my elbow ... while I am trying to keep Noah there, just long enough to take a picture! I think it turned out cute!

We now move on to Saturday ... our day begins at 6 AM (that is not a type-o, Bryan and I were up at six on a sat. morning)! We participated in a softball tourney at Quail Valley, which is on the outskirts of San Angelo! Instead of going in details about it and getting upset again, let me just say that it was the most UNORGANIZED tournament I have ever participated in or seen!

Just to name a few things that made it UNORGANIZED:
-They told us we played at 8 am; they told the other team 9am.
-They told us we would play again at 11. Around 11:30, they came and told us we would be playing after lunch. After lunch, they told us we would be playing after this game. We finally played at 2:30.
-We never saw a "bracket" ... so that we could see when we played again (I really doubt they even had one)!
-They allowed 2 all-men teams to enter a co-ed tournament ... the umps told them that they only had to find two girls to play. They told us beforehand that you had to have half girls/half boys!
-It was supposed to be double elimination ... in the championship game, we played a team that had lost twice already!
-Our friend, who came to watch us play, had to ump the game because there was no one else around.
-All of the umps were confused on the rules, so from game to game, it depended of whichever ump you got!

Now, don't get me wrong, we had a fun time when we were playing ... but this time next year, I will not be posting about this softball tourney! Oh yea, they gave us the 1st place trophy, and an all-men team the 2nd place .... but the guys got the 1st place prize of $200 in gift certificates instead of our team! hahah Who knows!?

Bryan and Jaime ... looking tough before our 8 ... I mean 9 o'clock game!

Showing off our 1st Place Trophy with our 2nd Place Prizes!
Anybody else confused?

So you might be thinking, "What is so busy about a softball tournament?" Well what made my weekend so crazy/busy was that my cousin Brian, who runs for ASU's track, was participating in the David Noble Relays at ASU all day saturday! This is what happens when you do not check your calendar before you say, "YES, I would love to play in a co-ed softball tourney." So after our second game, I drove to ASU to watch his sprint relay! Yes, I drove 20 minutes to watch a 42 second race ... then drove back to the tourney! hahah Sounds silly, now! They placed 2nd! After the championship game, Bryan and I both went back to ASU ... made it just in time to watch Brian win the 400 meter hurdles! They finished with placing 2nd in the mile relay!

Bryan and I both were both so exhausted, that I am pretty sure we both feel asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow!

Our sunday was calm ... with a lot of chilling! We renewed our contract with Sprint, so Bryan and I both got new phones! Bryan always says, he has never had a "NICE" phone ... well he does now!

This is his new phone:

Does he need all the gadgets? No. Did he want this cool-looking phone? Yes. The only reason he got it is because the Store Manager was there, and he gave us some incredible deals! 5 new phones, including this one, for only $50! Bryan spent most of yesterday afternoon playing with his new phone! It was quite cute!

For all of you still reading to this point, Way to Go! Sorry about the long post ... just keeping everyone up-to-date!!

Friday Fave Five

This is where I post five of my favorite things about this week! I plan on doing this every Friday!!

  1. Hearing people talk about finishing up their taxes ... and knowing that our's are done and already sent off! In fact, we should be receive our check very soon!

  2. Bryan calling me with some amazingly great news! We are both participating in a research study for the flu. The great news is that it will be ending in sooner than we thought, a whole month earlier to be exact! SO at the end of april, each of us will be $340 richer! If you are from the San Angelo area and do not know about Benchmark Research, check it out ... they are basically just giving money away!

  3. Watching 2 boys from the Boy's Ranch do awesome at the District track meet in Christoval, Texas. Ricky won the shot, and got like 5th in the discus! Cody won the high jump, placed 5th in long jump, 5th in the 100 m dash, 2nd in the quarter, and 3rd in the mile relay! Way to go, guys!!

  4. Getting to talk to my sister online this morning! Only 1 1/2 months until she comes back home to us in Texas!! Yipee!

  5. Having a girl's night with a couple of friends and their babies ... with a huge surprise in store for them!! Yeah, for surprises!

Weekend Wrap-up

First off, this is my 100th post! I have a post that isn't quite ready ... so it will probably be my 101th post that is really special! Bryan took the boys to see "Leatherheads" on Friday ... and of course, I tagged along! This is a great movie! 2 boys said it was borring, but all the rest said it was really good!

The dialogue between these three was halirious! I think that whether you like football or not, you will enjoy this movie! All around---- A+

On Saturday, we attended the annual "Ranch Ball". It sounds fancy ... but it sure wasn't! It is a fundraiser for the West Texas Boys Ranch ... $100 per couple! Since we didn't have to pay, we stayed until the end to help clean up ... we got home a little after 2 am!

I am covering up a zit/fever blister (actually I don't know what it is) ... it is ugly and would ruin the picture! I decided a finger would be prettier! FYI- it is almost gone now!

Sunday was a L-A-Z-Y day for us! I won four seasons of Reba off of ebay, and I had a message that said it was delivered on friday! SO we walked the dogs down to the office! Bevo is still learning that when we say, "Come Here" ... that means come here now! When we do let him off the leash while walking, sometimes he is really good, but other times he runs until he is just worn out ... then he walks right up to you! Sunday was a day for running! Bevo had to stay outside for the rest of the day and during the night! This is a picture of him pouting from outside!

He is standing on his dog house, looking in.

Laying his head down on the window sill.

Pressing his nose into the screen.

I know these pictures are a lot a like ... but I could not just pick one!!

Another Great weekend in the Neal Household!! :)
