2nd Doctor's Appointment

Today, Bryan and I went in for our 2nd appointment! Just a quick check up!

The very first thing I did was get on the scale! Well, I was just praying that I hadn't gained more than 10 lbs. My book said it was normal to gain 6-8 lbs. in the first couple months! I stepped on ... and waited for the worse! The nurse said, "You lost 3 lbs.!" I was so excited! I know you shouldn't be excited to lose weight when you are preggo ... but I was sick, and I am walking quite a bit, and trying to eat the right foods! This just reassured me that if I keep all this up (besides the sickness) that I will gain the recommended amount! My doctor was like why did we lose weight! hehehe I told her that it would not happen again!

The nurse checked my blood pressure ... I guess it was fine because she didn't say anything about it!

Then my doctor checked for a heartbeat! She was rubbing all over my tummy, and not finding anything! I said, "I know that sometimes if the baby is in a weird position, it can make it difficult to find the heartbeat this early ... or if the mom is fat!" My doctor was like you are not fat! She searched a little longer, and then said ok let's go to the secret sono room! Yeah, we get to see the baby again!

They have a sonogram machine in their office that they use for instances like this ... she wanted to see that the baby was growing since she couldn't hear the heartbeat!

I laid down on the oh so comfy bed. As soon as she put the wand on my tummy, she said hello baby and bryan's eyes got big! I warned him that there is a big difference between a 7 week old baby and 13 week old baby on a sono! From the first view, she was looking straight at the baby, and she said that his/her feet kept popping into view! She said we have ourselves a little jumper here! So then she moved to the side view. I was laying down, and couldn't really see anything. So I propped myself up with my elbows so I could see the monitor! When I sat up, I could see my little baby! Then he/she jumped again! The baby jumped, then would slide down, then jumped again ... Bryan said he was doing the worm! hehe It was so fun watching him/her! The doctor saw the heartbeat and said everythings looks great! She even gave us another picture!

13 Weeks

I can not believe that I am already writing about 13 weeks!

I am definitely in my 2ND Trimester! YIPPEE!

I have not been nauseous in a long a time! My appetite is back, and I can eat almost anything! Yeah! Sometimes, I have a mild stomach ache after I eat ... but it goes away pretty quick!

I go to the doctor tomorrow for my 2nd appointment! We are supposed to be able to hear the heartbeat! Hopefully the baby is positioned good! Otherwise, I think they are just going to check weight (hopefully this is ok), blood pressure, and probably make me pee in a cup!

Pictures to come soon! I think my belly just looks like fat, but Bryan keeps reassuring me that there is a healthy growing baby in there!

Next Week: First Pregnancy Picture

Also, on another note, I put in my last day with my boss at the hospital! I will work through July! My lower back is giving me lots of fits, and on the days at the hospital when I'm on my feet all day, lifting, carrying ... I come home almost in tears because my back hurts so bad! I will be 18 week the beginning of August, and I honestly can't imagine working there any after that!

Late Celebration

So, Saturday we decided to have my Daddy over for some good food and a movie for a late Father's Day Celebration!

We decided to go watch the new Transformers movie on Thursday morning ... It was good, but a little too much sexual/adult humor things in it! I wish they would leave that stuff out!

Bryan made us Chicken Parmisan over spaghetti and the fixings! It was very good! Then, we watched the first Transformers (which is much better than the 2nd)!!

After they left, we had some friends come over for wings, funny tv shows and Mexican train! Bryan again made some wonderful wings, I made mac and cheese ... mmmm, great supper! Then we watched the show "Wipeout" ... oh man, I have no idea why people would do that to themselves!! If you need to watch a funny show, check it out ... I PROMISE you will laugh!! Then we played some Mexican Train ... or as we called it for Jaime, Honky Train! I had absolutely no good rounds and ended up losing really bad. And of course the winner was Bryan ... I was excited for him! He never wants to play because he said he never wins! So now maybe he will play more often with me!!

It was a long day ... but lots of fun!

PS- I don't know what's wrong with me ... I haven't taken a picture in forever!

Week 12

All last week was very good! I can tell that I am getting close to the end of my first trimester!

Yesterday, at the wedding everyone kept asking how I was doing, and I said that I was doing great! But of course, that statement kicked me right in the butt!! I ate lunch today, then threw it up, then felt sick the rest of the day!

Otherwise, I really am starting to feel better!
-I've noticed that my appetite is back ... more and more things are sounding good to me!! I'm actually enjoying my meals again ... instead of forcing myself to eat!!
-I've heard lots of comments about my stomach. Certain clothes make it obviously that I am showing! It still just looks like a fat stomach to me!
-My lower back still hurts every once in a while! I can not sit for a long time ... same with standing!

ONE Week left of my FIRST Trimester ... Bring on the 2nd one!

PS- Happy Birthday to Troy (tomorrow)!!

A Holik Wedding

Today, my cousin Adam got married! She is Mexican and catholic ... so the wedding was very different from what we were used to seeing! But it was so beautiful!

I went to get my camera out at the reception ... and it was not in my purse! I was soooo mad! I had taken a picture of the dogs outside, and I had left it on my kitchen table!! So sad, no pictures!!

The reception was held at the Convention Center in San Angelo ... and was absolutely beautiful!! Even though Bryan was out of town (and of everyone and their dog asked where he was at), I still had a great time with the family!

-Got to hang out with Chris and Elizabeth (Liz was a bridesmaid) ... never a dull moment with these guys!!
-Trey, Heather and Abi came for the wedding (Trey was a groomsmen)! Abi is walking all over the place, and is as cute as can be! It was great to see them!
-I got to spoil Ms. Kylee for awhile! Ms. WiggleWorm is getting so big! Also had a great time with Shyanne!! :)
-Food, the fruits, the veggies, the chicken, the CAKE ... mmmmm, It was all so good!!
-They had a Mariachi band!!
-Great All Around Family Time

Can't wait for the next one ...

Out of Town

Bryan will be out of town until Sunday afternoon for work ... even though he will be playing ... he's getting paid, so we call it work!!

He is headed to Del Rio with a cottage! They will be sleeping on a house boat, and skiing tubing during the day! For the boys to swim in the lake at all, ranch rules says they have to have their personal lifeguard! Enters, Bryan!

He will be going back with another cottage in July, and I was invited to join them! I'm excited for another mini vacation!

11 Weeks

Well, I kinda just skipped 10 weeks over ... Vacation seemed more excited to blog about anyway! But nothing that exciting happened anyway!

On to Week 11:
-My favorite type of clothes is stretchy pants/shorts! I don't like anything on my stomach that isn't soft!

-My belly is starting to grow. It's starting to "pooch" out! Crazy! I guess pictures will begin to show up on this blog soon!

-I still have my good days and bad days for the morning sickness! I am nearing the end of my first trimester, and am praying that it also ends the sickness!

-My lower back is still killing me! I can not sit for very long ... I get very uncomfortable! I love laying on the hard floor ... it makes my back feel better!

And that's about it!!

Crazy Do

On Friday night, Bryan got a new do! He has been wanting to shave his head ... and all I asked was that he wait until after George Strait!

The Awesome Barber, Ryan
The "Old Man' Do

The "Monk" Do

The "Lightning Bolt" Do ...
or that Really Fast guy named BOLT!

The almost shaved head!

He had planned on taking a razor and shaving cream ... and shaving it smooth, but has not yet done that!! We will see!

On Saturday, we went to the Powell family reunion in Center Point! Since a lot of these people don't see Bryan all the time, they just assume he is Ryan! There was a lot of correcting!

I got to spoil a sweetie named Abby Lu, and what a joy that was! What a great baby she is!

Later that evening, Bryan, Ryan and I drove to San Antonio! I was going to meet my aunts (dad's three sisters) for an evening of great fun! We were all going to go watch the play, Wicked!! Oh Man, it was sooo good! I knew is was going to be awesome ... but I have to say that it exceeded my expectations! If anyone gets the chance and/or is thinking about going, GO! It is totally worth it! And take your husband ... there were THREE older men that sat behind us and laughed just as much as we did!

The boys were nice enough to go shopping/waste time while waiting on me!

Day FOUR: Dallas World Aqurium & Round Rock

We left Elizabeth's house around 9:45AM! We had one small problem: 1.) I had directions to the Dallas World Aquarium from our hotel ... and I had directions from the DWA to Elizabeth's house! It took us a little while, and we actually circled around downtown Dallas ... but we finally made it there!!

Bryan in front of the DWA.

Then, There's Me ...
I took so many cool pictures ... I figured I had already posted too many pictures!! So I made a collage of the cooler ones!!

Bryan with a huge Dove ...
of course it has a more official name!

In the Shark Tunnel ...

Everything was sooo green!

a Saw Fish ...

We made our way out of Dallas, found a Taco Bueno, ate ... and then this ended our Dallas trip!

We had decided to travel to Round Rock, spend the night with Ben, Kristi and the girls ... then continue the rest of our vacation in Kerrville with Bryan's family!

We had a wonderful supper with them, then settled down to watch "Bold"!!

Had to take a picture of this ...
The girls using their blankets from us and our pillows!

Great movie, and a great day!! :)

Day THREE: Hurricane Harbour & Rangers

This morning, we checked out of our hotel and headed to Hurricane Harbour!! I okayed it with my doctor before we came ... but still just did the mild rides, and a lot of the lazy river!!

Bryan ... attempting the boogie board!!

We left around 1:30, and headed to my aunt's house for showers and naps!!

Of course, we hit 5 o'clock traffic on our way to the Texas Rangers game.

In Front of the Stadium ...

Bryan with Nolan Ryan.

We got seats in the HomeRun section ...
All you can eat!

They had nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, chicken sandwiches and drinks! It was really fun!!

Bryan, Me, Elizabeth and Chris
Afterwards, we had to collect these cups!

Another great day!! :)

Day TWO: Day of Relaxation

I woke up this morning around 8AM ... craving blueberry muffins!! Luckily, our hotel DID have them at the front desk with some juice!

My Yummy Breakfast ...
My Lovely Company ...

I thought I would be nice and let Bryan sleep in ... that only lasted until about 9AM, and I was ready to talk to somebody! We chilled all morning at the hotel ... watching tv, surfing the internet! It sure was nice to just relax!

Since I got up so early ... I was ready for a nap by 1! I had a nice nap while Bryan watching some baseball!!

Then we had plans to go see my Uncle Jim and Aunt Bina! We were happy to see them and all their family!!

Beautiful Ms. Aiva

Madison and Macqueleigh ...
Catching a butterfly!
Lola and Gunnar

Axel

Bryan started a water gun fight with Gunnar ... but then Gunnar got the better gun, and got Bryan pretty wet!!

Then Macqueleigh and Madison began to dig for slugs ...

Axel had to hold one! Gross!

We went back to the hotel, and got to drive by the old stadium. Man, once you have seen / been to the new stadium ... the old one looks like a piece of junk!!

Then we headed to Red Hot and Blue to meet up with one of Bryan's high school buddies and girlfriend! Justin and Jordann picked this bar-b-que place for us to eat ... and boy, was it good!!

I am a picture freak ...
so of course I asked the waiter to take our picture!

Justin, Jordann, Me and Bryan

We were right next to the stadium, so decided to drive by it!

There is a brand new Wal-Mart next to this stadium ...
so we stopped and took this picture!!

Isn't it gorgeous?!

We are now back at the hotel, and ready for bed!

and a Happy Birthday to Bryan's Dad, PawPaw, Roy, Moses (only a few of his names)!!

Day ONE: Best Concert Ever

Warning: Longest Post EVER!!

Around 8 am, this morning we left our house with a loaded car, which included items like: 2 dogs, a fish, 2 sets of golf clubs, clothes for two for a whole week and cooler full of drinks and food! We stopped by the bank and the dry cleaning before we left ... then headed to my parents house to drop off the guys!

It was 9:30am ... and we were finally on the road for Dallas/ Arlington! We had rented the 6th Harry Potter book to listen to, which made the trip go by very fast (the movie comes out on July 15th, and we are both excited)!!

We made it to Cisco, and I told Bryan it was time to get out of the car! Right at noon, we finally found a nice convenient store/rest stop! We decided that instead of having to eat out almost every meal, that we would bring sandwich meat and the fixings to save $$.

Enjoying our 1st meal together at a rest stop ...
somewhere on I-20.

We found our hotel and went to check in right at around 2PM. We found a place that is 1 mile within the new stadium, so that we wouldn't have a hard time finding it. Well lots of people had the same idea we did ... there was a long line to check in. and the Poor Lady, she was not fast at all! Finally, we were next ... and they told us check in was at 3PM, so we had to wait for our room to be cleaned!!

We didn't want to drive anywhere because traffic was already crazy because of the concert. So lucky for us, there was a Wendy's within walking distance!! Yeah, for ice cream!

We finally got the key to our room around 3PM. Got a big load from our car. Opened the door to our room and immediately smelled SMOKE!! UGH! We had to take our stuff BACK to our car, go stand in the long line AGAIN (for the 3rd time today) ... and seriously about 30 minutes later they finally had us a NON-smoking room ... which is what we asked for online, but I guess they don't pay attention to that!

By the time, we settled everything in our room, and got dressed ... it was 4:30PM when we left for the concert!

Walking up to this magnificent building ...

First time to see the NEW Cowboys Stadium ...
The HUGE HD TV and little Bryan ...
which goes from the 20 to 20 yard line.

This thing makes every seat in the house awesome!!!

Julianne Hough got strep throat ...
So Leann Womack filled in for her!

This is the very first song played LIVE in The New Cowboys Stadium!!

On the big screen!

Mr. Blake Shelton

Bryan and I like him ok ...
But I have to say, He put on a great show!! :)

My Favorite Blake Shelton song is "Ol' Red"! I knew he was closing up, and he hadn't played it ... so I got Bryan to start chanting with me. "OL' RED, OL' RED, OL' RED!" Can you guess which song he ended with?! Yup, he must have heard us!

With no zoom ... this is the view from our seats! We were section 134, row 2! We only had one row of people in front of us ... which was awesome!!

Ms. Reba McEntire

I Love REBA!
Enjoying the Best Concert Ever ...
check out the kid behind Bryan, he wanted to be included!

She sang so many of her greatest hits!!!

Throughout the concert, I was like she has to sing Fancy ... I mean right?! Well she said her Thank You's and walked off the stage and I was like no way! This is Crazy!! Fancy is her best song ever! Of course, I told Bryan we need to chant ... maybe it will work again! I guess she heard us ... she walked back out in the hott little red dress! There was no doubt in our mind what she was going to sing!!

An Amazing Ending for part of the show ...

This is our "EXCITED That King George is NEXT" Faces!!

The One and ONLY .... Mr. George Strait!

This is ONE of my Favorite George Songs ...
'Run'

Enjoying watching George Strait!! :)

During 'The Fireman',
they had fire and sirens on the screens around the stadium.

No Need for Explanation here ...

Another GREAT SONG ...
'How 'Bout Them Cowgirls?'

Then, He started talking about the retractable roof in this stadium. He said there is one guy in this place that can open that roof. So he got the crowd to chant, "JERRY, OPEN THE ROOF!"

And he did ...

It takes 12 minutes to open or close completely ...

The roof was almost about half way open now ...
Of course I didn't get a picture of it open the whole way!

Doing what he does best ...

Of course, we need lots of pictures of ourselves too!

Looking GOOD!!

He also said his thank yous and walked off the stage ... and then his band followed him! And he had not played my favorite George Strait song ever!! Bryan said he was 99% positive he would come back for an encore ... he said you don't sell out a huge concert like this and not have an encore!! Well of course, within a few minutes he walked back up on stage with his band ...

He sang one of his new songs and then also sang Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues'...

Then sang 'This is where the Cowboy Rides Away' ...

We knew that was his last song!!

As soon as he walked off the 2nd time, I told Bryan he would have to take me to watch him again!! 'I Cross My Heart' is my all-time favorite song of his ... and he didn't play it!! I had that song played at our wedding ... it means sooo much to me ... and he didn't play it!!

So OVERALL, That seriously was the Best Concert that Bryan and I have ever attended! It was ONE Point away from being perfect!

So Happy ....

The concert ended around 11:15PM ... we made it back to our car around midnight!! It was crazy getting out of that place!! Luckily it only took us like 10 minutes to get back to our hotel, which was really nice!!

What a great evening!! :)
