Way to go Lance!!

Jill and I left my parent's house at 6:30am on saturday morning!! We had a blast on the trip ... sang Shania Twains greatest hits cd to make the time go by!! We were there around 10:15AM, which was in the midde of the 1A girls race!

Wall girls team also made it ... so we got to watch them! Their top runner crossed the finish line a split second after the 1st place runner! It was so close, that everyone was looking at each other asking who won! But then again, she is only a sophmore ... so hopefully she will return next year!!

Getting ready to begin their last race of the season ...

Almost done ...
Lance passed that Wall kid right in front of him at the finish line!!
About 30 minutes after their race, we were waiting around for the results (although we were pretty certain they had won it) ... then all of sudden they started yelling! They WON!! I was so excited for Lance!!

They beat the 2nd place team by 42 points!! :) Those positions are after they took out the individual runners ... Lance placed 24th overall!! Pretty Dang Awesome for a Freshman at State!!

The Wall Girls placed 3rd as a team! 2nd place had 72 points ... while Wall got 73 points!! Too close!!

Pretty exciting to have both your boys and girls cross country team make it to state!!

Standing on the podium with his fellow teammates ...

Receiving their Gold Medals ...

Lance is trying to get used to the heavy gold medal around his neck ... I believe this is why I didn't not get a smile out of him in the group pictures!!

Uncle Ronnie, Lance and Aunt Becky

Trey had to pick Heather and Abi up at the airport in Austin later that evening ... so he was able to kill 2 bids with one stone!!
Jill, Lance and I ...

All in all, it was a great trip ... and couldn't have ended better! :)

It's bad ...

I am about ready to throw my camera across the room! Now, everybody knows what I want for Christmas!!

Of course, this is supposed to be the exciting post about how the state cross country meet today ... but no my camera does not want to upload my pictures!!

Yesterday, my camera told me that it wanted to format my xd card ... but then it told me that it would erase EVERYTHING on it!! Of course, I have tons of pics on that xd card! So today I was only able to take 15 pictures ... and now it will not let me upload them!!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Anybody have advice?

Hopefully my next post will be full of pictures ...

Memories in a Cotton Field.

Bryan and I wanted to take some fall pictures! Bryan had a great idea to do them in a cotton field ... and I thought it would be really neat to have some in front of my Papa's House! Would create some special memories!

To get a cotton field at it's prettiest ... means right before they strip it! We really only had a couple days to work with it ... and I still don't know how we pulled it off, but we did! Mackenzie May did these for us ... and Bryan and I both love them all!

A Two Year Old!

The Good News: We had a wonderful weekend in Kerrville!

The Bad News: My batteries were dead in my camera, and I forgot to get anymore!!

On Sunday, We went to church ... another amazing service at Impact Fellowship! Then some lunch, football and naps proceeded! Bella's birthday party was at 5PM, so since all the family was down ... we decided to get some family pictures with all new additions!

Bella was blessed with lots of goodies ... including a purple motorcycle, a cool pop-up princess tent and of course, a blanket embroidered with her name on it! Not to mention, a beautiful daisy cake made by her own Mimi!!

Stolen from Kristi ...

Singing, "I Know You ... I walked with you once upon a dream."

We came home sunday night ... exhausted from another great weekend in Kerrville!!

A Baby Shower

On Saturday, we left home around 9AM and headed to Kerrville! We got there just in time for lunch, and then headed over to Ingram to get ready for a baby shower!! Marcus and Anna over at Journey with the Jenks are expecting their first baby girl, Abby Lu, in December!

Anna, Kristi and Me ...
(The blogging world has kept me in touch with these girls!!)
Anna- Thanks again for the Willow Tree ... I love it!!

"I'm not a boy"
Bryan and I got her this onsie!

We played a couple games! One of them was melted chocolate in diapers ... and you had to guess which candy bar was in each!! Some looked quite gross, some where easy to tell what it was ... it was quite comical to see a room full of women sniffing diapers (one even tired a couple of the diapers)!!

All in all, Marcus and Anna were blessed with a lot of stuff for Abby Lu!! Now, we just have to wait for her arrival! Due Date: December 24th! I think she will be a week early around the 18th ... we will see!

State Bound!

He did it!! Lance will be participating at the state cross county meet in Round Rock, Texas ... as a Freshman!! We are so proud of his hard work to get where he is now!! He asked me, early in the season, "Suz, If I make it to state, will you come watch me?" I said of course ... so this coming staurday (15th), that's where I'll be!!

He placed 10th overall! Then he placed 4th out of the wall team, so that means that 4 of their top 5 runners made it in the top 10 places ... I am pretty sure they placed 1st as a team!!

Happy Birthday to ...

... My Sweet Boy!!
Today is my hubby's 28th Birthday!

Last Night, we went to Chili's with some of his friends ... for some great food, strawberry cake & banana pudding and fellowship! We had a great time! One of his friends had me convinced, since I couldn't decide between cake and pudding, he said that if I really loved Bryan I would make both ....

He got his b-day present a couple weeks ago ...
(the scope is his b-day present!!)

Bryan also shares his birthday with a couple other important people in our lives...

Happy Birthday to Ryan
(Bryan's twin bro)!!

Happy Birthday to Bella!! Bella is celebrating her 2nd birthday today!! We are headed to Kerrville tomorrow morning for her b-day party!

Violet is ONE today! When we found her online at the Coleman County Humane Society, she was already 3 weeks old ... but the lady told us that she was born on November 7th!

What to say ...

I am definitely at a loss for words! We all stood as Christians and prayed ... for God to have his hand in this election! Now, we have to stand as Christians and pray for this man! This man that does not salute our flag during the pledge of allegiance ... This man that has lied about where he was born ... This man that believes the war in iraq is a mistake! Yes, we need to pray for this man, the senate, the supreme court ... and last, but not least Our Nation!!

A Quick Trip ...

On Saturday, Bryan and I had plans to work, take pictures and watch the 'BIG' Game! Those plans didn't quite work out! About 2:30 PM, we received a call from Bryan's Dad, saying that they were broken down on their motorcycle in Big Bend National Park! They needed us to bring a trailer and pick them up! So, we finished up at the Mall/Wal-Mart with the boys from Boys Ranch ... and headed home at 4PM. By the time we finally found a trailer sturdy and big enough for the bike and hooked up lights, we left the house at 5:30PM.

The trailer we brought to take Roy's bike home ...
(this was taken on Sunday in Kerrville)

We finally got to Big Bend around 10:30PM! We headed first to Headquarters to pick up Roy and Mary ... HQ had closed at 6PM, so I am sure they were happy to see us! We then took them down the road to their bike ... only to find out that the bike did not fit in the trailer we had brought! We brought a goat trailer ... and I was thinking it was like a cattle trailer, you can open half of the gate, but then you can also open all of it! Well this trailer would open on one side ... and then open on the other!! So the handle bars on his bike ... were probably about 2 too long on each side!!

Ok, let's think ... It's 11PM, Pitch Black (did I ever mention that I am scared of darkness ... I like to be able to see what's around me), We are 6-7 hours away from anyone ... and we just brought a trailer that doesn't do that job that it needs to!!

We finally decided that it's going to have to go in the back of Bryan's pick-up! We unhook the trailer, and then try to find the best place to load it up! Bryan had to drive his pickup in the ditch, perpendicular to the road ... so that the ramp was not steep! Bryan and Roy were in the front steering the bike; Mary, Jesus and I were in the back pushing as hard as we could! It was crazy, but we got it in! Thank You, Jesus!

... How the Motorcycle rode home!
(this was taken on Sunday in Kerrville)

We then had to tie it down ... using a flashlight and a spotlight! We finally got it tight enough, where it was not going anywhere!! Next tricky part ... getting the now way heavier truck out of the gravely ditch! It was out (Thank You, Jesus again) ... I am pretty sure that there were hand prints of the grille guard from Jesus pushing it out!

We finally left Big Bend National Park around 12AM! At 2AM, we made it to Fort Stockton ... where we turned our clocks back to 1AM! Man, what a waste ... we definitely didn't get to see that hour!! Roy drove until about 3, then Bryan took over! Bryan and I listened to a lot of the 4th Harry Potter book on the way up to Big Bend, so he caught some more of it! I think since you are concentrating on the story line, that it helps keep you awake! Roy took back over around 4:30AM in Junction ... and made the rest of the journey! We arrived in Kerrvile around 5:30AM! Mary put a note of the door that read, "Sleeping, Do Not Disturb"; I took the phone off the hook, and we all went to sleep!!

A Side Note: Bryan and I talked about taking my car because it has a trailer hitch, it's 4x4, I would also be able to help with the driving, and Gas is $2 compared to diesel being $3.40! I was pushing for it ... but I am so glad that in the end, we decided to take the pickup!

The good news of this story is that we got to see Bryan's family one week earlier than we thought! With Bryan student teaching and hunting trips with the boys ranch, we have not been anywhere for the past 2 months!

Emery had lots of smiles and giggles for her Aunt Susan!!

Saying "Goodbye'' ...It's was nice to say, "See you NEXT Weekend!!"

This is the story of our crazy life ...But we love it!!
