Prayer Request
The story is HERE. (I can't type it w/o crying.) She has left behind a loving husband, a 11-year old son and a 9-year old daughter! The family is having a difficult time bringing her body back to the U.S. for a proper burial! Please pray for this family ... they have a long road ahead of them!
Also, the son was on the same ride, behind his mother ... meaning he probably watched his mother fall (say an extra prayer for him)!
If you like to pray by name:
Glenn, Barbie, Zachary & Pamela Fojtasek

Easter ... my 2nd Favorite Holiday!
I love this time of year .... cold days begin to go away, spring/warm days are here, the flowers, etc. My church in Wall has a special tradition ... every year, we have a "Early" service! Early means 7 AM in this case! During our service, we have an old rugged cross, covered with chicken wire! Everyone in the congregration places a flower on the cross ... before you know it, we have this gorgeous cross! This reminds us of what Christ did for us ... something that looks so rugged can actually be so beautiful!

Yes, He is that Sweet!
Yesterday, we recieved a whole bunch of rain (Thank You, Jesus) ... the dogs were outside all day in it! When I came home, I knew it was bath time! I grabbed Violet first, and just did a rub down! Bevo was the really muddy one! I had two towels for him ... he sat on one, then I put the other one around him, so that I could carry him into the bathroom! I could not resist this picture!
Look at that face (and that muddy belly)!!

Totally Narly Dude ...
Bryan's parents came down this weekend for a quick trip! They had not seen our house finished and furnished! But they didn't come the "normal" way by car ...
They drove here by motorcycle! This is them leaving on sunday ... with a very nice vehicle in the background!
As they were driving off, Bryan and I were talking about it. He said he never worried about them driving home, but now he will! I said, "It's was like watching your kids or 2 young love birds drive off."

Pet Peeve Day

Today is the day to vent about drivers! San Angelo might have some crazy drivers! I can say that because I used to be there ... but now have had a clean record for over 3 years!
Pet Peeves (in no particular order):
- You know when a light turns yellow and you are at that point where you can either speed up a little or slam on your brakes ... Well, on those times that I do speed up, I am thinking to myself, "Man, I should have just stopped." Then I look in my rearview mirror, and there is not ONE, but TWO cars behind me that sped through the light! This also happens with green arrows ... when it turns yellow, a couple more cars come through! Then you can also count a couple cars coming through, when the light is green for you!
- On-ramp ... this is used to speed up so that you can merge into 65 mph traffic! It is very hard to merge if the person in front of you is going 40!
- Vehicles that think they need 2 parking spaces ... especially when there is limited parking space!
- When people go from one side of the road ... across 3 lanes ... cut you off ... then turn right in front of you so that you have to hit your brakes! Some times, there isn't a soul in sight behind me ... why couldn't they pull in behind me to turn!?
- In the Wal-mart parking lot .... people who drive across the parking spaces! This is something that really gets me fired up ... because even though you are following the road and the rules, you end up stopping for them because who knows if they are planning on yielding!
I am going to quit before I get all fired up!

Joanna and baby Sidnee

Please say a prayer for Joanna ... she is having some difficult times right now! She has a severe case of mastitis and her breast tissue is infected! This is also affecting her right arm ... she is not able to lift anything with it! They are supposed to be driving into San Angelo tomorrow ... Please pray for a quick recovery!

Sweetwater Rattlesnake Round-Up
I know ... I must have been crazy to go to this place ... but I guess there are things you will go through to spend time with your husband! The sound gives you nightmares for days ... I still get the chills just thinking about that place! I will never go back ... never!
It wasn't really that bad! But, for a person who is deathly scared of snakes, especially rattlesnakes ... this isn't the place for her! I did enjoy learning about them ... and the shopping!! :)
First off, the snakes were brought into this huge pit!
Bryan and I were guessing about 1,000 rattlesnakes!

Then, they were moved to the "Milking" stage ...
They were drained of their venom, one by one.
Yes, that is a smaller rattlesnake at the edge of the table.

Then on to be ...

Measured ...

Weighed ...

and Skinned!
You could even skin your own rattlesnake if you wanted to! GROSS!

This is the 2008 Miss Snake Charmer ...
they had a pageant on thursday evening.

Is this guy crazy or what?
Too Close for comfort ...
Why would someone ever want a snake to strike?
That's what the demonstrator was trying to do with this guy!

Smart Move
This weekend, I found some "things" that I could not pass up! So, I decided to copy my sister-in-law and ... start my Christmas shopping! I bought "things" for my 2 nieces! I wish I could post about "them", but it would ruin the surprise! So they will be stored away for 9 1/2 months .... I hope I can keep a secret for this long!

IQ Test
One question IQ test:
There is a mute who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing one's teeth, he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Now, if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?
Think about it first before scrolling down for the answer . . . . .

He opens his mouth and says. "I would like to buy a pair of sunglasses"
If you got this wrong ... please turn off your computer and call it a day.
I've got mine shutting down right now.
(You know you missed it too, so shut down your computer)

Hats off to a Great Weekend ...
... Computers on because it's Monday!
Bryan and I had a wonderful weekend! We started it with new furniture for our guest bedroom! It is a wedding present from my parents! Thanks Mom and Dad ... Now, people have a place to sleep when they come over! And just in time ... Ryan and Marissa showed up about 30 minutes after we had it all settled!
Bryan cooked steaks, while I cooked the fixings! We decided that we better cook a good supper because my parents were leaving for Honduras the following morning! For the next two weeks, they would be eating "mystery meat" ... not necessary meat, but who knows! Most of the time, people get sick from the water down there because they are not used to it ... Please Pray for this bunch as they are away!
The following morning, Susan decided that she would go pick her parents up at their house, then take them to the airport! Also, her husband would be coming along for the ride. Here's the catch: My parent's flight was at 6 AM ... meaning they needed to be there around 5 ... that has us leaving their house at 4:30 ... my car needs to be there around 4:15 to load up the suitcases ... which has us leaving at our house by 3:45!! My internal alarm clock went off at 3:15 and would not go back to sleep because I was afraid I would be late! We got home around 6, and got a couple of hours of sleep! My parents have done so many crazy things like that for me before ... so I was more than happy to do it!
The rest of the afternoon, I chilled. I don't remember the last time I did that ... it was nice! We went to eat Bonsai Garden for supper (Ryan/Marissa had never had japanese food like that before) ... as always, it was delicious! Afterwards, we rented Martian Child! I recommend this movie to all ages! I can't recall a single cuss word! The story line is so wonderful!
Sunday chuch ... amazing as always! Lunch w/ friends. Then onto a softball scrimmage ... Ryan and Marissa stayed, so that Ryan could play also! We played out at lakeview! The wind was crazy ... but that didn't stop them from hitting! They probably hit 20 homeruns altogether! I always go get the balls ... but man was I tired after the game was over!! Violet was with me ... so she ran a whole lot! Also, Elizabeth brought Peaches and Romo ... they joined us in finding homerun softballs! We all went to Sonic afterwards for drinks, ice cream, burgers, etc. Ryan and Marissa headed home after this (come back and see us soon guys).
Hastings has an awesome offer ... if you bring your movie back the following night, you get a $2.00 credit towards your next rental (they used to be a $1, which was still cool)! So Bryan and I took Martian Child back, and decided to get Gone, Baby, Gone. We stopped by Wal-Mart ... to buy groceries and a certain movie about a child thinking he is from Mars. This is how much I loved the movie ... return a rental, then go buy it! Gone, Baby, Gone was not as good ... Bryan liked it, but it was too sad ... and I also heard the "f-word" entirely too many times! I am going to return it after work for our $2 credit (that's the best part about the movie)!
Our weekend ended with some rain ... oh one of the sweetest sounds!
